This year many things changed in my life.  My home changed in my life, the rules and regulations all around my country for living changed and the workplace life totally changed.  What I found through all of these things is that boxes have been a big part of my life this year.  My work changed to doing more eCommerce work and I found that my entire life revolved around shipping supplies and sending packages to different places in the world.  My home changed and we used boxes to save too many aspects of our sanity. It was a beautiful thing and I never imagined that cardboard boxes would be a big factor in my life. But moving and living and working in a new way can cause a lot of surprising things and this was just one of them that took hold in 2020.

So the first place that I really started to learn about boxes was the world of eCommerce.  The fact is that the whole industry of shipping supplies is what really makes the eCommerce world run and keeps it flowing.  I spent hours and hours of work trying to understand how to use different boxes correctly and how to not spend too much money on the wrong ones.  This was not always a fun thing to do and in the end, I found out that it was basically futile work. I was never going to understand 100 years of boxes and find the best fit.  I needed help and if found the best places to find it.  That is really the key is knowing where to look.

What I found is that there are online stores that focus on selling boxes.  These massive stores are focused on helping companies like mine in order to survive.  The more they help and the more we sell means the more they sell.  That is how they look at business and I love that outlook.  It makes it a win-win for everyone involved. I found that they knew so much more than I did that it was simply sad.  I learned things that they learned from working with massive companies that saved me thousands on boxes and tape and all aspects of the industry.  That is why I suggest calling up one of these companies and getting the best box for you and your company.

Another area we were able to use boxes to our advantage was at home.  We moved into a new crazy home that needed lots of work. What we found was that we had too much stuff and it was all strung out to be able to work on our home and to live at the same time.  This meant we needed to order and stack things higher up to allow for us to store things well.  We used a system of storage bins and allowed ourselves to be able to store our not so used items higher up in the space.  It opened up rooms for us to do work in and was an amazing thing.  I knew which box to put where and which ones would hold and which ones would fold.

So use what you have and learn what you don’t know from the best places you can. That is the best way to move on and to learn and grow.
